Commemorating Tully's Centenary: celebrating our town and community in 2024 and Sugar Mill in 2025

Tully 100

The Tully 100 Centenary Committee has come together to host a collection of fun and historical events to be held in 2024 to commemorate Tully's Centenary.

We look forward to welcoming Tully residents, past and present, and their families and friends, to these celebrations - and in Sugar Week 2025, to look back on 100 years of Tully Sugar.

The Tully 100 Centenary Committee acknowledges the original inhabitants of the land that Tully was founded on and the Gulngay traditional custodians of Country in and around the Tully area. We recognise their continuing connection to land, sea, culture and community and pay our respects to Elders past, present and emerging.

Tully library - during regular opening hours in the centenary year.

Showcasing the personal stories of local residents.

Listen to audio and read the transcripts of the interviews.

Plus vintage photo and memorabilia display.

Tully 100 Art Exhibition

Saturday 25 May from 10.30am

Tully Nursing Home invites you to "A celebration through stories and art" in collaboration with local artist Valerie Keenan and Tully State High School.

Please join us for a morning of art, history, music and celebration in the Leisure Lounge, Tully Nursing Home.

Artwork to be displayed will be created in workshops funded by a Regional Arts Development Fund (RADF) grant.

Connecting Communities Exhibitions

13 May - 21 June

Themed photographic displays in Tully, Mission Beach and Innisfail libraries and Cardwell museum have been created by each local Historical Society.

TULLY LIBRARY: Regional Football
Theme connects El Arish to Tully: Football was and still is a community connector in the Tully area. With many Football hero's having grown up in the region, El Arish Historical Society will be showcasing the Football days from the 1920s to 1950s .

MISSION BEACH LIBRARY: Recreation
Theme connects Mission Beach to Tully.Mission Beach has been a favourite recreation choice for the Tully locals over the years with many social gatherings organized by families, schools and community groups.

INNISFAIL LIBRARY: Art Deco
Theme connects Innisfail to Tully. Both Innisfail and Tully were heavily impacted by the cyclone of 1918. When it came time to rebuild the towns Art Deco was the popular architecture of the time.

CARDWELL MUSEUM: Local Government
Theme connects Cardwell to Tully. Cardwell Shire Councils administrative functions moved from Cardwell to Tully in 1929.

This Tully 100 event is a fundraiser for the Tully Hospital Foundation.

Tully Old Cemetery Tours

Thursday 6 June & Saturday 15 June

Meet at the Old Cemetery at 5.30pm for a 6pm tour.

The tour will take approximately 90 mins.

Bring your own torch.

COST: Gold coin donation to the Tully Hospital Friends of the Foundation.

All welcome. No booking necessary.
